Image file format, Antivirus you’re using, Windows 8 or 7, SP1. First to change format you would have to read the file with some graphic tools or try to read it with another graphic editor. They don't open in IrfanView unless I drag them there, so that might not be the problem. It's trying to open it in Paint.

mspaint opens/edits/saves .jpegs just fine...I believe you need Office installed to use Paint with JPEGs. Loading... when I tried to find settings of the image i couldn't find any, though i am using xp on windows 10 but it was fine before, working with it previously.
