Paint What is boils down to is simple. A good free alternative is Paint.NET, it has most of Paint's ease of use, with a much larger feature set. The problems only arise after I've saved it, and it doesn't appear to matter what format I save it to. You have talked about re-saving it to jpg, do this and see if it works. Source
