turns out the obtain address automatically WAS NOT checked for the redirect automatically on IPv 6 although it was for IPv4... The way i solved this issue was by quickly initiating a system restore before the 'web page cannot be displayed' page appeared. Nothing like this has happened before so I'm quite worried. I tried all solutions above, but none have helped. I went into Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Security and DISABLED the SSL 3.0 and SSL 2.0 (which were checked) I then ENABLED TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 hit APPLY, OK and I'm not computer savvy enough to know exactly what these mean, but this is really frustrating not being able to browse.
