I'm must sick. I think formatting my portable hard drive for my LG TV the first time I used it might have something to do with it. If your external hard drive is more than 2TB it is probably formatted in GPT instead of standard MBR, which cannot be read by 32bit Operating Systems such as WIndows XP.
